未分級版也就是沒有根據不同觀眾對象剪輯，比較完整、原始的版本。

美國電影協會對每一部公映的影片都要經過嚴格的審級，未分級的影片不能上映，只能參加各類影展或是依靠DVD和藍光的出租和銷售來營利。

這些影片往往因為暴力色情鏡頭過多經過審級也是那種限制級或成人級的，電影協會審級時會要求在導演本身剪輯的版本上再作刪改。比如《敢死隊》這部電影，有未刪減版（Uncut），有導演剪輯版（加長版），有限制級版（R級），也有我們所觀看的輔導級（PG-13）版本。
