未分级版也就是没有根据不同观众对象剪辑，比较完整、原始的版本。

美国电影协会对每一部公映的影片都要经过严格的审级，未分级的影片不能上映，只能参加各类影展或是依靠DVD和蓝光的出租和销售来营利。

这些影片往往因为暴力色情镜头过多经过审级也是那种限制级或成人级的，电影协会审级时会要求在导演本身剪辑的版本上再作删改。比如《敢死队》这部电影，有未删减版（Uncut），有导演剪辑版（加长版），有限制级版（R级），也有我们所观看的辅导级（PG-13）版本。
